Wooden Basement for a Residential Home, Neu Saint Johann

The residential building in Neu-St. Johann features a full-depth basement constructed entirely of wood. It was decided early in the planning phase that the basement would also be built using timber construction. Timbase was involved in the planning from the very beginning and was thus able to tailor the solution perfectly to the building and its requirements. The wooden basement serves a purpose far beyond the traditional function of a basement: in addition to housing the home’s entryway, it provides space for additional living areas, a storage room, and the building’s utility systems. As a result, the space beneath the residence is fully utilized, and the basement becomes an integral part of the building.

Special Feature

Only three truckloads and one mobile crane were needed to construct the entire wooden basement. Thanks to the high degree of prefabrication, the floor slab, basement walls, and ceiling to the ground floor were erected within a single day. In the days that followed, the waterproofing membranes were installed and the full-surface monitoring system was set up. The high degree of prefabrication thus enables fast, precise, and resource-efficient assembly.
