Wooden Basement for a Single-Family Home, Haldenstein

The Project

In Necker, in the canton of St. Gallen, a sustainable wooden basement was built for a modern single-family home. The focus was on eco-friendly materials, a fast construction process, and seamless integration into the cityscape. The wooden structure promotes a comfortable indoor climate, offers compelling building physics benefits, and provides an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional concrete basements.

The basement provides additional functional storage space and was tailored precisely to the clients’ needs. Thanks to precise prefabrication, the basement was constructed efficiently and seamlessly integrated into the overall design of the single-family home. The project demonstrates how modern timber construction can be reliably and sustainably applied even in the basement area.
